This year’s AYA meeting was at Midden Zeeland airfield in the Netherlands and organised by the regional director for region 7, Ted Van Dam Merrett, and his wife Sylvie. Their Grumman is based at the airfield which has grass runways and is situated on land reclaimed from the North Sea.

The area is very much one of reclaimed islands of land in the sea and too much float on runway 27 would result in a ditching as well as disturbing the geese. Attendance at the meeting was a bit down on previous years partially due to the strong winds which caused cancellations from the Finnish contingent and a few others plus a reduction in members from the USA.
