Saturday 10th September

Fish and Chips Fly-in

And here we all are!

Enjoying the Welsh sunshine in Welshpool, waiting eagerly for the Chips, the Fish and the Chicken & mushroom pie. Starting in the far distance, on the left and then going clockwise.. is…

Arthur Bell, Rockin’ Dave Anderson, Chris Freeman (G.Santa), Effie Wiltens (G.Ditch), Graham Baker (G.Dragon), Sandy Mitchel (G.Doc.), Mark (Iceman), Roger Steel (G.Gyro), Val Mitchell (G.Dibley), Pat (G.Ms.Gyro) and finally Jade Baker (G.Mrs Dragon).

A few more Grumpies came just for the day (G.Cricket, G.Stiffy, G.Tony Sennapod, Jon Faulkner, Sarah & A dog, Henry Fister & Val, Young Arthur and finally (I think) Chris Aucken. A lovely overnight stay, spent with good friends, masses of chips & stuff and umpteen glasses of hooch (followed by more throughout our stay).

We woke up this morning to low lying mist and hidden hilltops, but it’s slowly clearing. The next major gathering is Leicester for the Bacon Butty Nosh-Up 19th November!

Graham’s original invitation:

It´s on!

Once again, thanks to the kind cooperation of Linda Jones and Whizzard Helicopters, we’ll be running our small but beautifully formed 17th Fish and Chip Fly-in on Saturday 10th September.

It will follow the usual format: arrivals any time during Saturday with the Fish and Chips order placed late afternoon and served in the cafe room from about 6pm, with soft drinks/beers/wine available.

For those who wish to stay overnight, we’ll publish ‘Arthur’s List’ soon with details of local B&B’s etc, and willing helpers will be around to drop-off/collect you at/from accommodation, with departures Sunday am.

You can just come for lunch!

For those of you who can’t stay for the evening, you’ll be more than welcome to come along for lunch and a natter in the Airport cafe which will be open for normal business until 4pm when we will take over occupancy.

Landings will be free with upload of 50 l fuel, and overnight parking charges waived. Stick it in your diary now, and let me know if you are likely to join us. I’ll collect PPR details from you closer to the time.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Oh the fun we always have.
